I attempted a garden this year – nothing spectacular, just a few seeds sown in a plot out back. I’ll admit I’m not much of a gardener. A few plants came up and some of them looked pathetic. (I did get one squash.)
I haven’t given the garden much time or effort and it shows. However, despite the lack of attention, 2 tomato plants have thrived and just today I saw tiny green tomatoes. I was pleased.
I guess I can be like the tomato plants, tho my circumstances may not be ideal and the folks around may not grow. By giving thought to Jesus, I can bloom and grow. Where I am planted, I can bear fruit, the kind that may point others to Jesus.
As those plants produce tomatoes, because that’s what they are, I can produce Christ like acts because I am a Christian. Just maybe as those little tomatoes made me smile, Jesus will see my effort and smile. By the way, how’s your garden doing?
