He meets me there each morning. He’s waiting when I arrive, ready to give strength for the day. Our meeting place is nothing fancy, just a chair, a light and a basket of books. That doesn’t bother Him at all, cause He’s come to be with me.
Sometimes we don’t say much. We sit in companionable silence. At times he shows me something in something I read. If I sit still, sometimes he whispers reassuring words or direction for my life, reminders of His presence.
I need these times of meeting with Him. There is a great strength and grace waiting when I ask, and often in His presence, I sense my need of Him even more. He’s such a constant friend, faithfully showing up, waiting patiently until I come. Occasionally He waits all day because I get busy or don’t take time for our get togethers.
As I get older, I realize He’s one friend I can rely on – the One who will never leave. I encourage you to find a meeting place for you and Him. He always has room for one more friend. You’ll find Him waiting and the day doesn’t seem quite so hard when you share the load with Him. Invite Him to come along. (He’s a friend that sticks closer than a brother.) You’ll be glad you did.
